1. What breed are you?

I am a miniature long-haired Dachshund, black and tan dapple color.

2. How old are you?

I am 3 years old and 2 months. I came home right before Thanksgiving in 2005.

3. What is your full name?

Mr. Famous Shamrock. Shamrock was my mom’s first dog, she had him from 2nd grade until he was 14.

4. Do you have any nicknames?

Monkey because I looked like a baby monkey when I was a puppy. Chunky Monkey because I LOVE treats. Stuffed Sausage because of my affinity for treats and that I am a “wiener” dog. My Dad calls me Momma’s Boy, but whatevs, I just like her.

5. Where do you sleep?

In my apartment aka crate, I love it, it is my fortress to hide from the crazy Zero.

6. What is your favorite thing to do?

Eat (see # 4), wrestle with Zero, sit as close as humanly possible to my Mom.

7. What is something unusual or interesting about you?

Everyone asks about my name, my Mom read a list of famous dog names a few years before she got me. Audrey Hepburn named her dog Mr. Famous, and she thought that was the best dog name ever!

8. Who is your best friend?

My best friend is Peanut “Pea” Prentice. Her Mom got her from pound about a month before my Mom got me. We are BFFs. I also like Zero, but would never admit it out loud.

9. Did you go to obedience school...if so were you "Top Dog" or would you flunk out?

Yes, I went to obedience school. My Mom had a trainer come to house starting when I was 8 weeks old. She had promised her new neighbors I would be a good dog, so she wanted to start early. I was really good at sit, down, not so much as stay or leave it. I can remember if you have good treats for me.

10. Can you do any tricks?

I can swim and dive for toys on the bottom of the pool. My Dad got me a kiddie pool this summer when it was extra hot and I love it.

we have craftiness!

Ok, finally a crafty update! First off, I am totally hooked on knitting, I even am trying to learn how to spin my own yarn, which is super fun and frustrating at the same time. I bought roving on etsy from All Spun Up and made my own spindle and tried it out. It is fascinating and addicting. The yarn I made is "rustic" aka awful, to say the least, but I am foraging on. I also finished my first two blocks for the Busy Little Quilting Bee, I really hope they like them.

I am a bad blogger, I truly apologize. I work in the stock market, so my job has been a bit crazy lately to say the least. My ability to form a cohesive sentence is non-existent by the end of the day lately. I will be back in posting form soon, I promise!

big news!

So my big news is that my boyfriend and I have commissioned an engagement ring! The jeweler is the amazing Amy Tavern. I have always admired her "regular" jewelry, and never noticed she did wedding/ engagement rings until a few weeks back. Once I saw them I knew they were the perfect fit for my boyfriend and I. She is doing a custom piece, with elements from the top two pictures. The "Amy" style, is the top picture, and the "Betsy" is the bottom picture. (Both images via her site.) It will be a the "Amy" band, but more of matte finish, with the bezel setting from the "Betsy" with some of the raw surface texture of the Betsy band. I am beyond excited, I think it will be just beautiful. My boyfriend's grandmother gave us a stone, which I am so happy about, they were married 50 plus years, so that has to be good luck. I love that the ring will have a sense of family history and be a reflection of our style. I will be blogging the process. You should check out Amy Tavern's blog as well, it is just great. She explains the history and design behind her pieces, as well as weekly spotlight on artists she admires.

flossy-p

A little back story, a few years ago I saw an illustration and loved it, but couldn't find the artist. So a few months ago while reading the art/design blogs in my feeder, I came across a post on her work. Jackpot! It linked to her blog, which I caught up on and have been reading since. Back to now, she is having a show at Artstream! The show is called "Affirmations" and also includes work by Amy Rice, Penelope Dullaghan and Sian Keegan.I have been seeing the sneaks peeks on her blogs for her show, and could not wait to see them completed. It opened this past weekend, and I managed to snag (online) a small piece from her show! I am SUPER excited, the piece I bought was just so lovely, andthe title "You Were Always Meant to Bloom" is just perfect. You should definitely check out her blog, and Artstream, they have a bunch of affordable art, craft and jewelry. Pictures courtesy of Artstream.
